What you don't need for your new baby

Obviously when you are expecting a baby you want to be completely prepared and want your baby to have everything. But what do you really need? There are so many things out there to buy, however do you need everything on the mothercare website?
We bought a lot of things for Aleesha, but in the end didnt use half of them. Here is a list of stuff that we never really used:
1. Nappy Stacker. We had a nappy stacker which matched the animal theme in her room, but we never really used it. It is so much easier just to stack the nappies on her shelf, then to put them in a stacker and have to fight to get them out of it.
2. Bottle warmer. We had a bottle warmer which I used once. I never gave Aleesha warmed milk from the start. It was always room temperature. I didnt want her to get use to having warm milk in case we were somewhere and her milk couldnt be warmed up. Also in the middle of the night when your baby is crying the last thing you want to do is wait for milk to be warmed up.
3. Changing station. I must have used her changing station a handful of times. It is a lot easier just to change her on the floor downstairs, rather than taking her up every time she needed her nappy changing. Also it was easier for me to do it on the floor because I am short, so I wasnt over-stretching.
4. Gro-bag. We had a couple of gro-bags, but she actually slept a lot better when she was swaddled in a sheet.
5. Baby dressing gown. We only used this a couple of times. I bought a large towel with a hood that can be used as an apron when bathing her. It was easier to wrap her up in this and dry her rather than put a dressing gown on her.
6. Cot mobile. We had a mobile for her cot, but she slept in a moses basket for the first few months so it was a bit redundant, and then she started sitting up quite quickly. When they start to sit up it is recommended that they dont have a mobile in their crib as they can get tangled up in the string, so I took it down.
7. Breastfeeding bras. I bought a few of these, however I wasnt able to breastfeed, so they became redundant. I did use them for a couple of days in the hospital, but they werent that comfy. I would suggest getting fitted a week or two before your due date rather than buying them too early. I went up three bra sizes the week she was born.
I think these were the main things. If I think of anything else I will add to the list. Obviously, these are just my suggestions, and things that are on this list you may use. My advice would be not to go crazy in those last few months of pregnancy, and buy things as and when you need them.
Lots of love
