This thermometer came the day after ordering it via Amazon Prime. It was packaged in the usual cardboard box and inside was a thermometer in a plastic case with instructions. The case does not need scissors which is always a plus and simply opens up. The thermometer does need batteries when using it for the first time it does not come with them. Once you have inserted the batteries give the unit 15 minutes to acclimatise to the room temperature. When using it all you need to do it's switch it on, point it to the forehead about 5 cm away and press the scan button. The temperature is displayed within seconds. It remembers the last temperature you have taken too. I have used a normal thermometer and then this one and the readings have been exactly the same, so no error in the reading at all. When using it make sure you move any hair or perspiration from the forehead as this may cause an inaccurate reading.
